This post is brought to you by Target.

I never really had hand me down clothes as a kid. Probably one of the bonuses of having an older brother rather than a sister I guess.

My mum typically chose my clothes for me, most likely because I wasn't actually that interested in fashion, but also because if I was left to choose for myself I would probably have picked the most inappropriate outfits. Sure fluro Wham tank tops and bubble skirts were all the rage, but hardly practical or a longstanding fashion statement.

With three boys of my own, hand me downs are a given and I never really thought much about how it feels to always be the recipient of out grown clothes. That was until Christmas time when I gave what I thought was the most boring gift ever to my younger two boys - new boardies and T'Shirts.

The excitement on their little faces at having brand spanking new, never touched by sibling skin, clothing was totally humbling and I knew I was so onto something from that moment on.

My youngest son Flynn is the ultimate fashionista. He has natural style and can make a last minute thrown together outfit just work and work well.

Sam, my middle son has never really taken much interest in clothes before, except now he is right into his skateboarding and wants to wear all the outfits that his skate idols get around in.

Now taking into account all of what I have told you above, it doesn't take a genius to figure out just how excited my boys were when I told them that I was taking them to Target and that they could pick out some of their own Winter outfits.

If you thought only girls got excited about shopping - you are so wrong. Clearly these two have inherited my love of shopping gene and they set about having themselves the most awesomest time ever picking out their own clothes.

We cruised the Kids section in search of Jeans, Shirts & Sneakers oh and we mustn't forget the ultimate style must have this season (according to these two) beanies!

They ended up picking out the same things, as often is the case with siblings. But they were very careful to choose individual colours so that there was no confusing who owned what when these new clothes ended up in the ironing basket.

Although yes this is ultimately a sponsored post from Target, I am a HUGE fan of their kids clothes. They survive the beating my kids give them and they last and last and last. My younger two wear Kids Jeans and Kids Shirts that I bought from Target for my oldest son years ago ... hence I guess the hand me downs in our household.

The kids shoes and Sneakers come in all the latest styles you see in the Surf & Skate shops but at a fraction of the price. I love them even more for that!

Once we were back at home they were super quick to change into their new outfits and show them off to Dad who totally approved. When I asked them if it was OK for me to take some photos of them in their outfits for the blog, they were suddenly super keen to direct their own fashion shoot and instructed me on where and how I was to photograph them.

For the love of Shopping and Photography - they are soooo my kids!

My teenage kids tend to wear whatever's in their "floor-drobe" ever since I told them to do their own washing.
